Solicitor Andrew Milne has been arrested on suspicion of fraud and blackmail. South Yorkshire Police said last week that detectives investigating allegations linked to the purchase and sale of freeholds in Sheffield have arrested a man on suspicion of fraud and blackmail.
The man, in his 60s, was arrested on Tuesday 1 April and has since been bailed pending further enquires.
Andrew Jonathan Milne, 63, admitted in 1986, made headlines at the end of last year following reports from the Sheffield Tribune that he had bought hundreds of Sheffield freeholds before sending aggressive letters to leaseholders demanding payment.
The Solicitors Regulation Authority restricted Milne’s practising certificate earlier this year after he was convicted of stalking a court blogger.
